Before completing your registration, carefully review the details for the course you have selected. Please make sure that you have selected the course you require on the correct date. Mistakes are not easily rectified after the sale has been confirmed.
If you are receiving a course confirmation by email, it is possible that the confirmation email may be lost or filtered by an anti-spam program. If you have not received your confirmation email within 24 hours of your registration, it is your responsibility to contact us to confirm your arrangements.
Refunds are not issued for non-attendance (no-shows).
Please be aware that the restroom at Coyote Creek Training Center is not considered wheelchair accessible. If you require more information regarding this please email joe@joesfirearmsafety.ca
Please note that classes and testing are done in English only. Students will need to be able to read, communicate and understand English. The use of an interpreter or translator app is not allowed during testing for the CFSC/CRFSC, as per the RCMP CFP.
All students taking the CFSC must be at least 12 years of age to complete the required exams. All students taking the CRFSC must be at least 18 years of age to complete the exams. All minors must have consent from their parent/guardian to participate in the course.
All students taking the CFSC and/or the CRFSC must not bring firearms, ammunition or drugs/alcohol or be under the influence. Further to this anyone with a current weapon/firearm prohibition can not participate in the CFSC and/or the CRFSC.
Failure to meet the above requirements will result in dismissal from the class and no refund will be issued.
General Course Policy
Joe's Firearm Safety reserves the right to dismiss any student from a class for disruptive or inappropriate behavior. Students who are disruptive or exhibit inappropriate behavior will be removed from class and no refund or credit will be issued.
Please arrive at least a few minutes early for your class to get settled in and to complete any required paperwork. Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate in class, as most classes have a minimum required hours, and no refund will be considered
All courses have maximum registration limitations based on regulatory requirements and space. All registrations are taken based on a first registered & paid, first served basis.
By participating in a class the student understands and acknowledges that they will be taught using the most up to date information to the best of the instructors knowledge. Laws and regulations do change and it is every persons responsibility to know, understand and follow the current laws at all levels of government.
Participants understand that every firearm functions differently and the disabled firearms used in class may not function the same way as other firearms that you might use in the future. It is every persons responsibility to know and understand how their firearm functions.
Joe's Firearm Safety, its owners/employees/training partners are not liable for any damages, injuries, errors or omissions that may occur.
The taking of photographs, audio and/or video is not permitted during class unless with the instructors expressed consent.
Cancellation Policy
Once an individual has registered for a course, a spot is reserved for that individual. Class sizes are very limited so we therefore employ a STRICT cancellation policy regarding refund or transfer of course fees. Joe's Firearm Safety requires a minimum of 7 days notice if you will not be attending a scheduled course for which you are registered. If sufficient advance notice is provided, JFS will refund the course fee paid less a $25 cancellation fee. If notice is not provided 7 days in advance no refunds will be issued.
If you signed up for the incorrect class, date, or number of participants, we will do our best to transfer you to the correct class or date or refund any extra participants less a $5 cancellation fee, as long as JFS is informed of the mistake within 24 hours of the booking being made. Informing us after 24 hours, the above mentioned cancellation policy and fee's will be in place.
Some courses have a required minimum number of participants. If JFS must reschedule/cancel a course for this or any other reason, JFS will reschedule the course as soon as possible but participants will be given the option for a full refund.
Refunds and course transfers will not be considered on the day of any course or for non-attendance (no-show) to a course.
The financial obligations of our programs are fixed for the year and the withdrawal of a participant does not lessen operating expenses.
ALWAYS double check your start time & date of class, as reminders are not always sent out after registration. You will not receive a refund if you miss or forget about your class. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR PROGRAM, PLEASE CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY!
Cancelled or Postponed Events
Occasionally, courses are cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions or situations affecting the instructor or low-enrollment. We will strive to send out notification of any changes at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the course, however, sometimes poor weather conditions or severe illness only present shortly before a course and we will ensure to send out notification of cancellations under these circumstances no less than 2 hours before the course start. When this occurs, Joe's Firearm Safety will make every effort to ensure that you receive a prompt full refund or you have the option of attending a make-up class.
JFS assumes no liability for cancellation of courses for any reason. Any ancillary costs related to the student taking a class (including but not limited to: airfare, travel, hotel, per-diem, mileage, lost employee wages or salary) are the responsibility of the student and/or the employer. If a class is cancelled, JFS liability is limited to the amount of the registration fee ONLY. It is suggested that, prior to making any travel reservations, you contact us to confirm if a class has sufficient enrollment or will be running as scheduled if severe weather is to be expected. If a course is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund. Please make sure to include/provide your transaction confirmation number so we can expedite your refund if applicable.
Failed tests/Rewrites
If a student should fail an exam during the CFSC or CRFSC, the student will need to make arrangements with the instructor for a retest. The retest can not be done the same day but must be done within 7 days of the failed test. Rewrites cost $25/test. In the event a student fails the retest or does not retest within 7 days, the student would need to retake the course, as per the RCMP/CFP.
